Brasso Seco Old Road
This is an old "road" that connects Brasso Seco, Paria and Mon La Croix. This road is
still used as a trade route, but really defies the definition of a road as much of it not
even a 4X4 could pass. About half of it is single track or clear muddy trail and some sections
are very poorly paved. Starting from Mon La Croix this road is a really a muddy trail through
rainforest that is a fun down hill for about 3 miles dropping from 1,000 feet to 300 feet above
sea level, at times its cleared and is quite wide but when the trail is not cleared it is a
single track. Some sections are technical and would require you to carry your bike for short
distances unless you are very technically adept. At the base of the hill the trail crosses the
Marianne River and from here it is a mixture of rolling hills of single track through dense
rainforest becoming country road, here you gain 250 feet elevation, then loose, then you gain
the 250 feet again.
