Chaguaramas
Chaguaramas offers a variety of riding experiences. Cazabon Trail offers easy road riding
along a country road with impossibly long bamboos arcing over your head, here sometimes
monkeys ease their way along these bamboos as their own path to cross the road without touching
ground. Dry river beads offer a bit off-road technical with small drop-offs, sand, mud and pools.
Some single-track trails offer cross-country riding with a bit of a challenge, here forest trails
with logs, bamboos and streams across the trail present themselves as fun obstacles to navigate.
Steep hills challenge you to ride and carry your bike up but serious fun for the for the more
technically adept to test their skills going back down. The summits of these hills also offer
spectacular views of the rugged North Coast as it spans out before you. End your day or have
lunch relaxing on an easy country road to a small waterfall where you can erase any tensions from
your body and soul.
Chaguaramas was a military base during World War II used as a naval base, for guerilla warfare
training in its forests, as a recreation site for officers on leave and many other uses. Your
ride will be structured to pass some of the ruins left by this time in Trinidad's history so
that you can learn of some of this very interesting history.
