Madamas Road and Sobo Waterfalls
The Madamas Road starts in Brasso Seco in the heart of the Northern Range surrounded by rugged
mountains covered with dense rainforest. The ride starts on paved road that deteriorates slowly
to a path that the only vehicles that can pass are serious 4X4s; it can take from 40 minutes to
about two hours depending on your skill level and desire to get there. It is a muddy "road"
that passes through abandoned estates and rainforest near to Paria Springs. The ride is of
medium difficulty and some sections can be a bit technical. Along the way you will see many
wonderful butterflies and forest birds, such as Euphonias, Golden-crowned Warblers, Turquoise,
Silver-beaked and other Tanagers, Honeycreepers, or if you are lucky you may see a Piping Guan.
Take a swim in the pool at the base of the gorgeous seventy foot Sobo Waterfalls to refresh you.
All along the way you will learn about the Natural and Human History of the area.
