Turtle watching

At about 6:00pm head off to Matura Beach. Matura Beach is located on the North East Coast of Trinidad, wave action is very dynamic and the forest comes to the beach's edge, this make for a very dramatic setting to view a living fossil. The Leatherback Turtle evolved along with the dinosaurs and has long out lived them. This majestic creature can be seen in the moonlight emerging from the crashing waves, hauling itself onto the beach in order to lay over 100 eggs. At about midnight or just after depart for the return trip.
